Place - Outlines

Idea one involves recording myself multiple times, perhaps in different locations and in the end recording all of the recordings playing at the same time on the computer screen. Each video playing in the same location signifies that place can happen anywhere and everywhere even at the same time.

I. Record, Rewind, Record
A. Multiple video recording recording
1. Record Multiple videos in different location
2. Transfer videos to pc
3. Record videos located in different zones interacting in one place.

II. False Scene
A. Faked background with a real face.
1. Secure two pc screens or two webcams
2. Set the screen behind me to display a location: still picture, video, or animation.
3. Preferable location is somewhere wet.
4. Douse face with water.
5. Record myself in front of the pc displaying the image to simulate actually being in the area.

III. Any Means Possible
A. The randomness.
1. Simply discuss or rant on how place can be anwhere at anytime, and what it means or can stand for.
2. Illustrate by pointing at objects, or people, or turning the screen.
3. Rant randomly about place, to the point that even "place" is a place.

I really think you have some great possibilities with the first idea here. Consider, too, that the "places" in which your face will be appearing are also virtual spaces. That takes what your wanting to talk about to a new level altogether.

To me the first idea involving multiple videos interacting with each other seems the most interesting. getting the timing down is probably going to present the greatest challenge.

i also think the first idea is the strongest. there's a lot of that in the news if you think about it. every time an anchor reports via satellite. maybe play off that or think about the beginning of the brady bunch tv show.

I like your ideas. But they all seem abit similar for some reason. If layering and layering and multiplying images- this saturates our optical senses reaching overload. A false place would be over the head and randomness is like putting video through a paper shredder.

The first idea sounds the best. The others aren't as interesting sounding.

I think either of the first two could be great. fake backgrounds could be a little cheesy, but i dont think you should be afraid of that. cheesy could be good.

I agree with everyone the first idea sounds like it will have some good possibilities. I would want to hear more about the false place and randomness of places ideas.

the multiple screens within a screen is going to be the strongest. it seems that everyone like the first idea the best. would the piece work if you are doing the same thing in each different screen. like the way the looped video was successful?

I think the first idea is strongest, it would be interesting to see how the different videos interact while playing at the same time.
